Story

White Water Lilies are the largest wild flowers which grow in our moorland landscape. During the winter months they disappear completely with their roots buried deep in the rich boggy peat of their favoured moorland lochs. When spring comes their beautiful lily pads cover the water’s surface, and by midsummer their exquisite flowers grace the lochs and provide a gorgeous stage for the thousands of sparkling damsel and dragonflies which share their environment.

I have studied both plants and insects all my life and they never fail to fill me with a sense of wonder. Almost forty years have passed since I designed the water lily patterns and so it was a very special experience to re-work them in my own Hebridean yarn.
