The Greeta Cardigan kit includes two colour-printed patterncards with full instructions in six sizes, access to an intermediate level online video class, and all the Alice Starmore Hebridean™ 2 Ply yarn in the 11 shades required to make the cardigan in your chosen size. The model is shown in the first size. All six sizes feature the same yoke pattern and so on the larger sizes the yoke rounds will sit higher up on the shoulders whilst the body and upper sleeve shaping is extended and designed to fit each subsequent size.

The Greeta Cardigan is an intermediate project which assumes you already have the required skills for working stranded knitting in the round with a steek.  A focused video class takes you through the unique shaping of the upper body in preparation for fitting the circular yoke. Also included in the class are how to assemble the garment pieces for working the yoke; how to set and follow the yoke pattern; how to decrease the yoke within the pattern;  how to finish the neckband steek; how to finish the short armhole seams and graft the underarms.

Needles and buttons are not included in this kit. You will require:
1 Set of double-pointed or circular 2.75mm needles. Set of double-pointed or circular 40cm, 60cm and 80cm (100cm -120cm for the 3 larger sizes) 3.25mm needles. 1 spare 60cm or 80cm circular needle. 1 Set of short 2.75mm & 3.25mm double-pointed needles (for lower sleeve). Stitch holders. Stitch markers. Tapestry needle.
9 Buttons.

The Greeta Cardigan is shown here worn with the Greeta Hat Set, which is a separate project.

Story

The Greeta river (Abhainn Ghrioda) begins its journey from a series of burns which run from the hills and lochs in the centre of the Lewis moorland. From there is wends its way through heather, lochs and hills until it reaches the Stornoway Castle Grounds where it races through beautiful woodland and out into the sheltered harbour bay. The journey from beginning to end holds a lifetime of treasured memories for me and so some depiction of it in textile form has been on my mind for some time. My thoughts for this design centred around the rich and changing late autumn landscape along its banks as it flows from subtle moorland into the woodland's dazzling autumn leaves.
