Story

In the Outer Hebrides the summer months bring us light almost twenty four hours a day, with only the wee hours descending into twilight. This means that outdoor work and pleasure can extend for as long as we care. The light during these nights is soft and clear over the sea and sky and by August the twilight is just deep enough to see the brightest stars once again. At this time Antares, the brightest star in the constellation of Scorpius, can be spotted flashing red against the soft blues of sea and sky above the south-eastern horizon. This ethereal sight was the theme for the Antares cardigan design. The strong geometric pattern lines reference the water patterns, the horizon and the imagined lines between the stars which allow us to identify and see the form of the constellations. The colours are those of the summer night sea and sky punctuated with flashes of red in honour of Antares.
