2024 News Archive
In 2024 we brought out a wide range of projects in all kinds of styles. We continued the St Kilda Collection with the Ruabhal Hat Set, Eagle Collar and Oiseabhal Wrap patterncard kits, and the in-depth Creative Course 3. We brought out a range of classic nautical designs as patterncard kits with the Faroe, Breton, Inishmore and Scarborough. We also knitted some designs in brand new colourways; welcomed new dyelots in to our 3 Ply range; went out on lots of photoshoots, and ended the year with the new Cassiopeia Hat Set and Vest designs. All in all it has been a very busy year, and you can scroll down to see all the highlights.
We began the year with the Ruabhal Hat Set, which was first shown photographed on Emma in a main colour of Pebble Beach with contrasts of Spindrift, Driftwood and Golden Plover. As the year went on Alice knitted two more sets, one in a main colour of Summertide and one in a main colour of Fulmar.
The textured and layered Eagle Collar was added to the St Kilda Collection in both a six and a seven layer version. The original six layer was first shown in a main colour of Pebble Beach, with new versions in Solan Goose and Whin added as the year went on. The seven layer was knitted up in dramatic Red Rattle.
The first patterncard kit for a woven design appeared in March. The Oiseabhal Wrap was first shown in four different colourways, with a fifth added later in the year.
In April Creative Course 3 was added to our www.steek.scot website, with the Linne Belt and Sporran Bag as the focus of the course. They were shown in 5 different colourways in order to provide inspiration.
Over summer and autumn we concentrated on bringing out some classic designs as patterncard kits, adding new sizes and showing them in our Hebridean yarns. We started with the intricately textured Inishmore.
Next the Faroe arrived, with six sizes and choose your own colour options. This Solan Goose and Selkie colourway also had a matching Hirta Hat Set made to go along with it.
The Breton brought in some bold stripes and a slouchy shape, shown here in a nautical colourway.
The Scarborough finished off the seaside set, shown here in Solan Goose with a matching Briodag Hat Set and woven wrap.
Solan Goose, Golden Plover, Red Deer and Erica joined our Hebridean 3 Ply range during the summer.
The Loch Lomond Cardigan came back after a long absence, showing off the very different new Rowardennan colourway, as well as bringing back the old favourite Luss colourway.
We knitted up new colourways of old favourites.
We ended the year with two new patterncard kits, the Cassiopeia Hat Set and Vest, both of which can be made in your own choice of colours.
As always, we have new designs on the needles, new 3 Ply colours in the making, and lots of plans for 2025!
