This kit includes a colour-printed pattern card with full instructions in all sizes and all the yarn required to make Loch Lomond in your chosen size. Loch Lomond is a standard fit cardigan with set in sleeves. The body is entirely worked in the round and the sleeves are knitted separately in the round to the armholes, with the sleeve caps knitted back and forth in rows. The Loch Lomond is shown here worn with a Levenish Hat and Hirta Gloves, and with a St Agnes Eve beret and scarf and Ruabhal gloves.

The Loch Lomond design is available in two colourways, this is the Luss colourway. You can find the Rowardenen colourway here.

Story

It is not surprising that the beauty of Loch Lomond has long been celebrated in song. It is within easy reach of Glasgow, and provides the city folk with majestic views of loch and mountains.

I designed this stranded colourwork cardigan with both loch and song as inspiration. I based the colours on the loch and landscape on a moody, breezy day. The rippling motion of the water, and the doomed lover of the song, were the themes for the pattern. I composed curving, broken heart shapes and added little knots within the broken hearts to evoke the texture of the waves.
