This kit includes two colour-printed pattern cards with full instructions and all theAlice Starmore™ Hebridean 3 Ply yarn required to make the Large Eagle Wrap in your chosen size and colour. It is shown here in the longer length in warm tones worn with the Sandpiper Collar and Henry VIII Hat Set, and in the medium length in Red with the Faroe pullover, Hat Trick Hat and Hirta Gloves.

Story

I based the Eagle Wrap on the tail pieces for the Eagle costume but made them wing-shaped. This is a very versatile design which can be worn in lots of ways. It is also easy to knit: made from side-to-side in two separate, reflecting pieces starting at the short end and then worked by gradually increasing sts and rows, section, by section, to the longest length at the centre back. Every section within each piece is worked in stocking stitch with short rows, and finished with two rows of reverse stocking stitch.

Every section is essentially a repeat of the second section worked for each piece, but with more stitches and rows added. The two pieces are grafted together after blocking. To finish, I designed a lightly curved cabled band which is sewn on along the top edge of the wrap.

The medium wrap is made from the same instructions as the large wrap but with fewer sections.
