I used eleven shades of my Hebridean 2 Ply to work my classic Wave colour scheme into a hat set. The hat, gloves and the lower edge of the collar are worked in the stranded circular technique and I created an openwork tiered pattern, also worked in the round in a single shade, for the upper collar.
This kit includes a colour-printed patterncard with full instructions and all the yarn required to make the Wave Hat Set. The collar and beret are made in one size and instructions for the gloves are provided in three sizes. Enough yarn is provided in the kit to make the largest size of gloves.
The Wave design is also available as a cardigan, click here for the Wave Cardigan.

Story
I was born quite literally a stone’s throw from Stornoway Harbour in the Isle of Lewis and so the sight of brightly coloured fishing boats bobbing on the waves is probably the earliest imprint of a colour scheme in my mind. The colours of the boats and the changing light and movement of the sea are always with me and I first interpreted this in the Wave pattern cardigan I designed for my Fair Isle Knitting book in 1987. It became one of my most popular designs of that era and I updated it with the perfect colours from my Hebridean 2 Ply range for the Wave Cardigan kit. This in turn has inspired this hat set. It is fun to knit and a bright and cheerful way to keep the breezy Spring chills at bay.
