The Sea Anemone was written by Jade for our book Glamourie. Many world-renowned fairy stories have been sanitised over the years, their darker edges removed and happy endings added. This is not the case with the majority of Scottish stories, in which the themes of castles and princesses rarely appear. Instead there is ambiguity and strangeness, and threats from evil forces. In these tales nothing is what it seems and only the very lucky survive. The story of The Sea Anemone is true to this style of Scottish folklore and contains dark themes. Be warned!
